Summary: Maybe Ianto is not strong enough....
It’s too hard, too hard… I can’t… This time I give up… The young man walks in the dark passage. He feels so old, so tired, so weak. All his body screams for a kind of redemption; he just wants to lay down on the ground and sleep; forever. But he knows it’s just an insane dream; he has to be strong for her. Each step echoes in the air, bam, bam, like a macabre parade of his shit life.
She lies there alone in this dark room. She is beautiful in her deep sleep, like a queen in all her magnificence. When he looks at her Ianto Jones forgets all his problems; he knows what love is. He caresses her soft skin, kisses her gorgeous lips. I just want to scream; forever. The young man carefully puts his head on her chest. He closes his eyes, listens the regular and comforting rhythm of her breath; I love you Lisa. In the dark room, the young man forgets his pain, takes her hand and let her heartbeat rock him softly: bam, bam.
His hands work like a rigid dance; the young man makes coffees for the others without thinking about what he does. Like everyday, every moment of my life… A repetition of my emptiness… Around him, the team is laughing and yelling; they are alive… A giggle explodes in his throat; Ianto Jones has to restrain it; there is no place for happiness in his life. Not while she lies there alone; forever. Then he sees him, proud and strong in his magnificence, like a king; Jack why don’t you see me? Hear me? But the young man knows he is just a fool; there is no big damn hero in his life. Jack’s laugh explodes in the air; bam, bam.
Ianto Jones feels like he has a tear running through his insides. The sensation of losing and winning all at the same time… Falling or flying? I am lost… She lies down on the ground, her blood like a red blanket, miserable and ugly in her last act. Lisa Hallett is dead. The young man kneels beside her; the scream explodes inside him; I lost her… forever… Then he hears her again. But she’s not Lisa; or maybe she is? Another body… Another monster… She implores his redemption; he begs silently for her forgiveness… I am not strong enough... The sound of the bullets echo in the air like thunder; BAM. The others execute the monster; forgive me Lisa, I failed.
