Blue Lizard

Part two

Two bodies are pressed together, their breathing accelerating, names are born and die on their lips. The cock enters more profoundly with each thrust into the woman, making them both yell with pleasure. A groan escapes her mouth, his teeth bite at her neck. In the early morning, two desperate people beg for love, cry for comfort, surrender to desire. With a final sigh, comes the cold parting of their bodies. She turns her head to the wall, clenching her fists.

“Ianto… I don’t love you....”

“I don’t love you either Suzie.....”

“Great..... It’s just I wanted that to be clear between us....”

Silence covers the room, two people lie in the bed, two people lost in the same place. After a few moments the regularity of the woman’s breathing indicates to the man that she is now asleep. The soft moan that her nose makes when she sleeps comforts him. At this moment he has the illusion that he is no longer alone. He feels safe.

“Suzie, tonight I killed someone I loved. The man was important to me a long time ago. He saved my life in so many ways. I loved him so much that I thought my heart might explode. I killed him tonight Suzie. I’m a monster....”

The cadence of her breathing proves to the man she is still asleep.

“I met him when they recruited me to the unit. I was a lost boy, I was in prison. I took a lot of drugs, was always drunk. One night a man attacked me and I killed him. I was so drunk; I don’t really even remember what I did. I was nineteen. They put me in prison. Prison is the perfect criminal’s school. I did bad things there. I was afraid of nothing because I was not afraid to die. They came one day and offered me a job. They said I would be free; I just had to execute a mission. They said they needed me. I had nothing to lose, so I said yes. That was my first step into the Blue lizard. That day I sold my soul.....”

The woman moans softly in her sleep.

“That was where I met Harold Carter. He was my tutor, he taught me everything. He taught me how to kill in silence, how to track, how to never leaving a trace. With time he became my protector. One night he touched me in a way that no one had before. I became his lover. The sex with him was fabulous..... It was so different to what I had before..... I fell in love..... Then I met Lisa..... I betrayed him.... I was twenty-two..... I was a fool, I thought if I fled to France with her they would forget me....”

A cold laugh rocks the room.

“Two years.... I was for free two years..... It was so wonderful.... And Lisa got pregnant.... Our little boy was a gift life gave me....One day they never returned home.... A car accident.... That day I closed my heart forever.... A few days later I received a card with a blue lizard printed on. I knew they had found me......”

The man looks at the ceiling, clenches his teeth.

“But I swear Suzie; I have nothing to do with the massacre of The long night..... I swear.... I was in France...... I never killed that way.....”

The man sighs profoundly. Rays of light cross the window. He gets out of bed, puts his clothes on and leaves the room. He never saw the woman’s look from the bed.

“Jack what do you mean you are in danger and maybe the world is too?”

In the conference room the team looks at their captain with surprise. Coffees, journal papers and the Blue lizard’s card lie on the table.

“Yesterday morning I received confirmation that a very dangerous unit is now rebuilt. The unit calls itself The Blue Lizard.”

“I’ve never heard about that.”

“I know Owen. Only a few of us know about this secret organization. The Blues Lizard was so secret that only a few government members knew of its existence. It was created after the Second World War, the purpose of the unit was to spy and eliminate the State’s enemies. They recruited elements from the prisons, used people who had nothing to lose: killers, information technology genius’, cheats. Nobody knew how many or who they were. Over the years they worked in collaboration with the government and executed their nasty work.”

“But that’s awful.....”

“Rebecca you are such an emotional little girl sometimes. Life is a bitch, welcome to the real world!”

“OWEN!”

“Sorry Jack.....”

“It’s true Becca, the Blue Lizard was a cruel organization. But they were experts, professionals and very silent within society. Too good at their work.......”

“What happened Jack?”

“Years ago, I met one of them. Harold Carter was a professional assassin. I was there because of some rift activity, to retrieve an alien’s object. He was there to kill a criminal trader. We did our work. I don’t think we could call it a friendship, but that night we created a relationship.”

“Ok mate, I don’t want to hear the sordid details of your sex life!”

“Oh he was very interesting... One night I remember I was in this dark alley and he joined me just beside an exit and.....”

“JACK!”

The laugh of the man explodes like a melody in the place. Francis and Rebecca laugh with him. Gwen looks at him with a grin.

“C’mon Owen, it was funny and I was trying to defuse the atmosphere.”

“Well, I’d prefer for you to continue the story. If the world is going to end soon I want to know how.”

The captain looks at his team; a dark shadow passes quickly across his eyes.

“Over the years, the Blue Lizard got more and more powerful. This kind of organization can’t be watched very closely. The government lost control. Harold had suspicions. He told me and I helped him to find the truth. We discovered an important traffic of alien objects, murders and sex slaves marketing throughout Europe. The Blue Lizard was in bad hands, the unit was now an executioner. Six years ago the Blue Lizard had been dismantled. One night five people had been atrociously mutilated. They were the highest leaders of the unit. The English media called that The long night. It was when the government decided to eliminate the Blue Lizard........ The day after I received a card with a blue lizard printed on. In the other side the word revenge was wrote with blood. I knew one day they would come back....”

“Shit.......”

The sun sets slowly in the red sky. Ianto Jones waits in front of an abandoned warehouse. An hour ago, he put a bomb inside. This is his new mission. He has to wait for the three people to enter and then set off the bomb. In his hand there is a trigger. He has no emotion on his face. This is his work, he never questions, someone has paid so he executes. Fifteen minutes later a car stops in front of the warehouse. Two men and a woman enter inside. He waits a moment, to be certain they do not exit and then pushes the button of the trigger. In ten minutes the bomb will explode. Suddenly, the noise of breaking glass catches his attention. Two little kids break a window in the far wall, stepping over the glass and entering the warehouse. The man tenses, in his hand the trigger continue its countdown, he can’t stop it. Without hesitation he runs to the window and enters the warehouse. Ianto Jones is not a child killer. At the same moment a Weevil arrives, its breath jerky as it enters the warehouse. Captain Jack Harkness follows it. Few minutes later, two little kids are pushed outside the building. At the fresh end of the day, in the calm city of Cardiff, an explosion cuts through the air. Inside the place, death reigns in triumph. Three bodies lay dead on the dusty floor. In the ruin, a man exits painfully, holding in his arms an unconscious bloody young man.

I know I have already told you how fabulous your english in this chapter was Nadine....but I thought I would mention it again. The number of corrections I do now is so few compared to how many I have had to do in the past. Really my dear, its a pleasure to watch your english vocabulary grow so much in such a short space of time.

So what else? You know how much I liked the back story and the background information about the blue lizard. You know how much I liked the beginning with Suzie and Ianto....but the ending! I have just one thing to say:
