I have  a question for you. Gareth's band made another Sex Wales and arnachy shows and there is a competition short story. I am not certain I understand. They ask for competition to pay 5 £, but I dont understand why. Its something they ask in Europe for a competion? Weird.....

"Sex Wales and Anarchy Winning story read at SWA by Gareth David-Lloyd plus author receives ring-bound signed copy of their story and a goodie bag.

Entry fee: £5 per story (plus s.a.e. for return if required) Multiple entries permitted. Entries should not have been published.

Enclose a separate sheet with name, address, email address, telephone number, title of story and word count.

Word count: 8,000 words maximum

Spacing: 1.5 or double
Your story should be stapled and include the title and word count.
Your name should not appear in the main text of the story—entries will be judged anonymously.

Cheques payable to: Justine Jenkins. No entry form required. The judge’s decision is final.

Maybe I dont understand well.

More, I ask some question for buying an hoodie, from Blue Gillepsie band, and I have no answer. Is it me or its weird? I mean, you have a product, you want to sale it, but you give not a lot of info and more you dont reply... Maybe its me that not trust enough people. But I bought the album in download and I had problem... I am not certain I trust them again. Do you trust transaction on the web?

Anyway, if someone could answer me for the 5£ its could be great :)

Geez, I guess you have to pay to have your story considered for the contest. At least I think that's what it means. I wonder if you have to live in the UK to enter. Sounds a little fishy to me.

I think is shit, its the first time I see that, pay to participate to contest. I could understand if you receive something with your inscription, but pay just to participate?????????

I have to admit I am more and more disappointed. I asked them why we have to pay and they didn't answered, then I have asked if its only for UK and they didn't answered.

In fact I dont know them a lot, but I know who are they:)

They replied this morning to say that its international and the fee is for the administration... But I continue to think its not fair. They know fangirl from Garteth will pay for that, so they know they will have money. Its not fair for some who really want to participate for the challenge of the words....

Yes, and I am very angry because I love to play with the words and do contest and now I have an idea for a story... I dont know what to do,....

I think that they ask for a small fee for the processing. I am not saying it it fair, but can you imagine how many GDL fans will write a story in the hopes of having Gareth read it out loud. Heck some people might enter several times. The people organizing are probably asking for 5 pounds to weed out the serious writers and those who just want attention from Gareth? This is just my opinion.

Also about the hoodie, it is very likely that a small band such as Blue Gillepsie does not have loads of people working for them or the website. You might be one of the first Canadian to order from them so they might be a bit confused or not equiped to take payment. BUT that is no excuse for not replying to your emails.

You comment is so interesting, thank you very much. I didn't thought about Gareth's fangirls. I think you are right, they probably to that to be certain to have only serious writer. But its expensive and they are just a little festival, so I dont want to be mean, but to ask this fee is a little snooty.

But in the same time, its because I am angry because I wanted to particpate....

You are probably right about the hoodie, but I am disappointed to not having reply. But in the same its more money for me :)
